1. It's my birthday tomorrow, September 24. I'll be 18. I'm not going to buy cigarettes or go to a strip club but I might buy a lottery ticket and go to a porn shop with Hannah to make fun of her ex-boyfriend who works there.

2. I'm going on a hot air balloon on Sunday.

3. I have an Ecuadorian boyfriend who used to be a salsa teacher, we speak Spanish and go dancing and ice skating all the time. I think I'm falling in love just a little bit which is so ironic because...

4. I have a ticket to the Dominican Republic that says I'm leaving on October 5 and not coming back until January 6. Then I'll be home for a couple weeks and leave again for 5 months. I will be teaching English and building a school and having the time of my life and (hopefully) not missing home too much.

5. I'll only be able to check my email about once a month but if you want to hear from me give me your email address and I'll definitely write.

6. This will probably be end of livejournal for me for a while... but you never know.

7. I'm so happy I'm waiting a year for college, life is surreal and fucking perfect.

my mom and sister have decided that because of my sister's "emotional load" right now she gets my perfect room in august.
what the fuck man.

the worst part is i know that they're kind of right, a sixth grade girl can't be sharing a room with her younger brother.

but this room is my LIFE.
i LOVE this room.
i love my orange and green walls and hanging sarongs and (this is about to get really corny) all my best memories surrounding me.
and i'm feeling rather, displaced?

on a brighter note, i got a killer prom dress.

i'm at a really beautiful place in my life right now,
i never document the days when i'm hapy for no particular reason, so in case i'm reading this in 10 years this post is to say the end of my senior year was just really wonderful, intense and a lot to deal with, but i haven't had a bad day in so long.
i'm exploding with love for my friends, what beautiful people.
and i love this SUN!!

oh, and uh, belize next year with emma? it's a new country every day, but i'm going somewhere and that is for sure.

there is a bomb ass peruvian boy sitting at the computer across from me and i´m really distracted.
i haven´t had any free time at all this trip and so this, my second to last day in peru, will function as the dozens of postcards i promised to write.

we started in lima and it scared me a little. 9 million people packed into one city makes for a lot of tragedy. you see people and dogs shitting on the streets, tiny women with no teeth wil follow you for blocks trying to sell their flowers or keychains, little colonies of kids with elaborate plans to rob you. it was just a lot. but i also loved it for all the colors, everywhere you look there are deep oranges, cobalt blues, and it was PERU! spanish spanish spanish everyhwere and merengue blasted from clothing stores.
i´m totally hearing costi songs like ¨te amo¨ and other songs from junior´s merengue cd, and juanes too, a lot of juanes.

then to huancayo, which might be my home next year. my host family was adorable, i got along really well with the oldest daughter mirella. the grandmother of the family is practically deaf and mute and wanders the house aimlessly all day. there are some people that i feel so comforatable speaking spanish with and these are some of those people. it´s just like a light goes on in my head and i can´t stop talking and words pop into my head that i don´t ever remember learning. fluency fluency that´s what i want.

oh shit my time is almost up.

well, yesterday was macchu picchu and there are really no words. my host mom told me about a friend of hers who couldn´t walk, went to macchu piucchu for a day, and left walking. i totally believe it.

ok i have to go, tonight we´re going to a discoteca, good thing all my clothes are sooooo nasty right now.

i've been on the brink of exploding all day,
i'm going to peru next year i'm going to peru next year i'm going to PERU next year for EIGHT MONTHS
god i don't understand how suddenly everything can just fall right into place,
this makes too much sense to be happening
this doesn't make any sense but it's happening it has to.
suddenly i have support instead of "you're just going to waste a year and never come back and fall in love and have little peruvian babies and never go to college"
suddenly there's free spanish lessons in return for teaching english
suddenly it's contacts in south america and suddenly
uh wait, i mean FINALLY my excitement for next year is overwhelming my sadness for leaving this one.

but jesus, if i have too many more days like today i' m not going to graduate.
i am officially INCAPABLE of doing homework,
or anything for that matter except thinking about slash planning next year.
and salsa dancing.
or thinking about the salsa boys.
i just can't do anything, even writing this has taken me forever i have no control over my wandering mind.

today on broadway it was so sunny and the energy was radiant, i had a coffee in one hand and a chocolate muffin in the other. then this girl gave me the biggest smile of my life, she was red-lipsticked and toothy and looked right at me and shined.
i smiled back, so so wide and then i realized i had a big mouth full of muffin so i shut my mouth really quick and choked a little.
yep yep that's how we do.
but this day was still full of love and rosemary crackers and i'm going dancing tonight so it's ok.
